The Tupelo Public School District is currently
accepting applications for the following positions:
Qualifications: Currently holds or is enrolled and working to obtain a dyslexia therapist license from an approved dyslexia graduate internship program. Must currently hold a valid teaching license.
Job Goal: Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction this position implements and oversees all dyslexia related services in the Tupelo Public School District.
Qualifications: A master’s degree or higher. A valid administrator license. At least ten years’ successful experience in teaching and school administration. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Job Goal: To assist the superintendent substantially and effectively in the task of providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services. Tupelo is a great place to live, work and learn.
DIRECTOR OF SECONDARY CURRICULUM
Qualifications: A Mississippi Educator License. A MA/MS in Administrator/Educational Leadership. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Job Goal: To assist with the organization and coordination of the instructional program and to assume district-wide curriculum and instruction design and development tasks by the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Schools.
COORDINATOR OF INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY
Qualifications: A valid MS Teaching License. A valid MS Administrative License preferred. Minimum of 3 successful years teaching and/or administrative experience preferred. A master’s degree in education; Instructional Technology emphasis preferred.
Job Goal: Support the TPSD adoption and integration of technology tools and curriculum. Under the direction of the Superintendent this position is responsible for facilitating the effective use of technology in instructional programs district wide by providing school site support of teachers and administrators and coordinating and implementing educational technology programs and initiatives.
Qualifications: AA certificate, Master’s Degree. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Job Goal: Supervise staff members designated by the Board or the Superintendent. Provide instructional leadership in a manner that inspires others to higher levels of performance. Establish and maintain an effective learning climate in the school. Pursue innovative and creative ideas that enhance the learning environment of students and staff. Keep superintendent informed of the school’s activities and problems. Prepare and administer the school budget and supervise school finances including student activity fund. Supervise the maintenance of all required building records and reports.
Preferred: Successful experience as an Elementary Principal or Assistant Principal
