Welcome to MASA
As the oldest and leading administrator association in Mississippi, MASA Board of Directors is committed to providing leadership in educational affairs and working on behalf of the children of Mississippi. We recognize the value and importance of your work as school leaders and we work diligently to ensure the professional growth opportunities we provide are designed to meet your needs in an ever changing and sometimes challenging job. Partnering with AASA, The School Superintendent’s Association on many of our programs allows us to ensure unique opportunities for our members such as the work around Redefining Ready in high schools, support for rural schools and a team of advocates on Capitol Hill.
MASA is privileged to award annually The Roger McDaniel Scholarship to a deserving school administrator seeking to enhance his or her continuing education in school leadership. Nominations are accepted throughout the year and due December 31, prior to the spring conference. The Golden Lamp and Friend of Education Award winners are celebrated each fall along with The Superintendent of the Year, a highlight for MASA during the annual meeting and leadership conference. The Superintendent selected to serve as Mississippi’s Superintendent of the Year goes on to compete at the national level and is recognized during the National Conference on Education.
Our organizational structure is intended to bring together the concerns and opportunities of all administrators in an effort to coordinate resources and support systems and to respond accordingly. While the Executive Board is made up of Superintendents, all Board Members are School Administrators and each have an equal voice in decision making and strategic planning for the association.
As our membership grows, so too does our menu of services and benefits and we’d like to encourage those of you who are not members, to consider the value membership brings. From networking to advocating with a collective voice we can ensure equity by influencing sound policy making at a local and national level and make certain our programs continue to provide the quality you deserve.
